The Hitlist #2 - Round Framed Sunglasses

With spring finally here there’s one accessory that you can’t do without — sunglasses. At the moment I’ve had my eyes on round framed sunglasses in particular. One of the most iconic examples of stylish men in round frames would be The Beatles frontman, John Lennon and Ozzy Osbourne to name a few.

I trawled through a bunch of the runway collections for Spring 2012 and it seems that I’m not the only one in love with round frames this season. From the brightly coloured frames at Kenzo to the James Dean/rockabilly look at Michael Bastian. The sports luxe look at Louis Vuitton is my favourite I must admit. I just love how quirky and versatile they are. Round frames are a great departure from other styles of eyewear.

Spring is the season to go a little crazy and experiment with your wardrobe and here are a few pairs of round framed sunglasses available now:

Persol Steve McQueen Folding Sunglasses - MrPorter
Spitfire Round Sunglasses with Removeable Lens - ASOS

The Hitlist #1: Cole Haan Lunargrand Wingtip Brogues

I’m starting a new segment for the blog called The Hitlist. It’s going to feature things that I’m inspired by at the moment; mostly in the fashion and lifestyle industry as well as music, film, photography etc.

My first contribution to The Hitlist will be SHOES! The shoes I’m currently lusting for are the Lunargrand Wingtip Brogues by Cole Haan. Cole Haan is a Chicago based fashion label run by Trafton Cole and Eddie Haan. Currently, they specialise in shoes and a wide range of accessories.

I came across these shoes on Complex Magazine’s style section and I pretty much fell in love with them. One of the reasons I think they are a must-have item is because they’re comfortable without looking too casual. Cole Haan combined their traditional shoe construction with Nike’s innovative ultra-lightweight Lunarlon cushioning system to create a look that’s young and vibrant. They’re the kind of shoes that will work with casual looks and more formal ones. At the moment they’re only available at the Soho branch of Cole Haan, I’m desperately hoping it goes on sale internationally as well.

Sh*t Guys Should Know About Fashion - #5

From my personal experience, fashion can be pretty hard to follow if you don’t know what people are talking about. So I thought that starting the Sh*t Guys Should Know About Fashion segment would be a great way to unravel most of the jargon you hear or read about fashion.

If you’ve got any confusing terms to add to the list, just drop them in the comments section and I’ll be happy to help!

B’day, 1000 Hits and a Versatile Blogger Award

Today has been a really great day for me. Mostly because I turned 21! Although it feels pretty similar to being 20 I’ve really enjoyed reading all the birthday message people have left me as well as my gifts (which I will share with you guys in a later post!).

The second reason I’m really happy is that as of today you guys have viewed this blog well over 1000 times, so I just wanted to say a HUGE thanks to every one who’s taken the time to read and contribute to my posts so far. I hope I can keep coming up with interesting stuff to show you. I kind of have an idea of the kinds of posts you guys like the most but if you’ve got any ideas of things you’d like me to blog about please don’t be afraid to leave a comment. Also look out for opinion polls and competitions too, thanks for making this so worth it!! x

I’ve been awarded the Versatile Blogger Award by one of my favourite bloggers, Kayleigh Marie!

The award comes with some rules:

2. Inform the bloggers of their nomination.
3. Share 7 random things about yourself.
4. Thank the blogger who nominated you.
5. Add the Versatile Blogger Award pic on your blog post.

So, my nominees for the Versatile Blogger Award are, in no particular order:

7 Random Things About Me

    Marni at H&M

The release date for H&M’s next major designer collaboration is just a week way and it seems like it will be the best one so far. Since H&M announced the collaboration with Marni last November bits and pieces of what to expect have been floating around online but at last, the complete lookbook has been revealed. The collection promises to be fashion forward and affordable and from what I’ve seen, I think they will deliver on both. The collection really embodies the vibrant colours and all-over prints that have made Marni famous.

Compared to Versace’s collection for H&M, the Marni collaboration seems to be more wearable while still being really creative and visually pleasing. Quite a few of the pieces are made from silk so it’s clear that neither H&M or Marni are cutting corners in terms of quality. I’m sure that the public are going to eat this collection up so if you are planning on grabbing a piece of the collection, get there early!

Check out the full collection at H&M

Here’s a closer look at some of the pieces I am dying to get my hands on:
Silk Scarf £19.99, Shirt with Contrasting Sleeves £59.99, Bag £59.99, Silk Shirt £29.99

    Sunglasses £19.99, Tie £19.99, Hooded Waistcoat £34.99, Jacket £99.99
